Dr. Nitin R. Mariwalla is a board-certified neurosurgeon serving the New York metropolitan region, where his family has proudly contributed to the medical community for over 45 years. Dr. Mariwalla’s extensive expertise covers both surgical and nonsurgical treatments for a variety of conditions involving the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.
Dr. Mariwalla pursued graduate degrees in genetic engineering and public health before earning his medical degree from Tulane University. He completed a research fellowship in spinal biomechanics at the Barrow Neurological Institute and was recognized as a finalist for the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute grant. He went on to complete his neurosurgery residency at Emory University, where he also pursued fellowships in both open cerebrovascular neurosurgery and endovascular neurosurgery.

Dr. Mariwalla has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters across all subspecialties of neurosurgery. His contributions extend to medical device development and education. While his practice serves a diverse patient base, Dr. Mariwalla is particularly excited to bring his unique skills and passion to the Brooklyn, Staten Island, Southern Manhattan, and Nassau County regions.
His neurosurgery areas of interest include a wide range of degenerative diseases of the central nervous system and cerebrovascular diseases, including stroke, vessel stenosis, aneurysms, and arteriovenous malformations. Dr. Mariwalla is committed to providing state-of-the-art care and utilizing cutting-edge techniques to improve patient outcomes in these complex conditions.
